Tips for tuning a violin

Tune the A string first, since it's the orchestra's reference note, then tune the others in fifths from it. Use the fine tuners on the tailpiece for small adjustments and the pegs only for big ones.

Tune in a quiet room, play one string at a time, and let it ring past the initial attack before you read the needle. Within ±5 cents is in tune for almost any purpose. Your audio is analysed in your browser and never uploaded.
