Tips for tuning a drop D guitar
Drop D lowers only the thickest string, from E down to D, which lets you play power chords with one finger and gives riffs a heavier low end. Tune the 6th string until it matches the 4th string an octave lower.
Tune in a quiet room, play one string at a time, and let it ring past the initial attack before you read the needle. Within ±5 cents is in tune for almost any purpose. Your audio is analysed in your browser and never uploaded.
