Tips for tuning a bass guitar

Bass notes are low, so let each string ring for a moment before reading the tuner, and pluck with the side of your finger for a cleaner fundamental. A 5-string bass adds a low B0 (30.87 Hz).

Tune in a quiet room, play one string at a time, and let it ring past the initial attack before you read the needle. Within ±5 cents is in tune for almost any purpose. Your audio is analysed in your browser and never uploaded.
